to PR's 50th anniversary

Since 1956, the Phantom Regiment has established itself as one of the most successful drum & bugle corps in the history of activity. Competing against corps from the United States, Japan, Europe and Canada it is one of only three corps to achieve top 12 finalist status in Drum Corps International championship competition every year since 1974.

As the Phantom Regiment looks forward to its 50th anniversary, it sees some major obstacles standing between it and true success.

• The equipment semitrailer and the food-kitchen semitrailer are both in dire need of replacement.
• Practice equipment such as scaffolding, loudspeakers and computer software need replacing.
• Bigger offices and storage facilities are needed.
• Equipment and transportation for our "Music in the Schools" educational programs are needed.

Vision

The Phantom Regiment is dedicated to being the premier music education and performance youth activity in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. It works with local schools to strengthen educational programming. The Regiment supports music activities such as community-centered performance programs and school band clinic/competitions. Moving forward, the Phantom Regiment vision includes the development of a music school to provide personalized performance and educational opportunities for young adults to support community music efforts and to assist school band programs. Specifically the Phantom Regiment endeavors to offer the following educational programs.

• Drum & Bugle Corps - Existing and ongoing.
• Concert Stage Band - Forming in 2004-2005
• Drum Major Clinic - Annual event which started in June 2003
• Fall Band Festival - Annual event which started in October 2003
• Color Guard Clinic - Annual event beginning 2004-2005
• Parade Corps - Forming in 2005
• Music School - 2010

With your support, the Phantom Regiment can provide supplemental educational services to the community while serving as roving ambassadors and promoting a positive regional image to the world.
