Rockford Rhythm, a program of Phantom Regiment in cooperation with Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Rockford Public Schools District 205, strives to provide young students with an education in percussion, working toward the goal of preparing students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed at a higher level.
Rockford Rhythm offers a quality music education through private drumming lessons and group drumming classes, with opportunities to perform within the Rockford community. We aim to reach students of all levels of drumming experience as well as all diversities and backgrounds. Among the goals are to foster all students to know the importance of good citizenship within our community. We strive to inspire creativity and cultivate musicianship within our community and provide an opportunity for young students of all skill levels to discover the joy of music.
Students will benefit from the broad experience of our faculty and volunteers in addition to visiting artists and clinicians. They will also have access to the world- renowned Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps percussion ensemble.
Rockford Rhythm was started in large part with a memorial donation in the name of Jeff Whitman, a long-time drummer in the Rockford community and a former marching member and staff member of Phantom Regiment.
