Zack Anderson currently serves as Assistant Director of Bands, and Director of Jazz for Liberty High School located in Frisco, TX. His duties include directing the Symphonic and Jazz ensembles and assists with all other performing ensembles. Zack is also involved at Fowler and Vandeventer middle schools, and mentors sections in each of the concert ensembles.
Zack attended the University of North Texas in Denton. While at the University of North Texas, he completed his Bachelor of Music with concentration in French Horn. Zack studied under Dennis Fisher, Nicholas Williams and Bill Scharnberg performing in ensembles and recording as a member of the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra Opera, Concert Orchestra, and the Basketball Band.
Zack has been an integral part of band programs across Texas including Guyer High School, Azle High School, Coppell High School, Wakeland High School, Dickinson High School, Cobb Middle School, Fowler Middle School, Harpool Middle School, Crownover Middle School and Renner Middle School. As a member of the educational staff, Zack has helped assist these programs attain state level achievements both in the marching and concert activity. He continues to help programs around the DFW area by teaching privately.
As a performer, Zack was as a member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps(2010-2011). Previously, he has served as an Educational Staff member for the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-14) where he taught mellophone and assisted with the corps’ hornline. He also served as field technician and student assistant for UNT’s Green Brigade (2010-2012).
Zack’s professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Mu Phi Epsilon, and the National Association for Music Education.
