Phantom Regiment members to the rescue 💪🏻

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- When Phantom Regiment arrived at its rehearsal site (also the show site) at Laidley Field this morning, it encountered a challenge with the turf. The artificial turf had somehow been scrunched up, and it was sticking out a few inches. This was going to be a problem not only for Regiment's rehearsal but also for tonight's Drums Across the Tri-State and all of the corps using props. The stadium staff had trouble fixing the turf. Help Phantom Regiment get to the DCI Giving Challenge Finish Line! Generating millions to support drum corps over the past four seasons, the 2019 edition of the DCI Giving Challenge fundraiser pits different DCI World and Open Class corps and SoundSport teams against each other in a class-level, head-to-head fundraising competition. Each group vies to raise more money from its alumni, fans and friends than the other groups in its competitive class. The 2019 race kicks off today! We are in urgent need of volunteers as we head into the final days of the 2019 tour. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the current members of the corps and experience drum corps up-close-and-personal! Exciting Summer for Rockford Rhythm

Rockford Rhythm, the local youth percussion and color guard education program of Phantom Regiment, has much to celebrate this summer. In addition to multiple parade performances, Rockford Rhythm was a featured act at the FVV Fest honoring Rockford native, sports tourism ambassador and NBA champion Fred VanVleet. John Baumgartner honored as DCI Volunteer of the Year

Drum Corps International has chosen long-time contest coordinator John Baumgartner to be honored as a Volunteer of the Year. DCI will present Baumgartner with a plaque during ceremonies at the Drum Corps International World Championship Semifinals on Friday, Aug. 9 in Indianapolis, Ind. Also being honored are Linda Vitale of The Cadets and Ken Adams of the Blue Knights. Phantom Regiment Hires David Warren as Corps Manager

Phantom Regiment has chosen David Warren as its full-time corps manager as of June 1, 2019. Warren will be responsible for handling the 154-member corps’ 12,000-mile summer tour and its membership. “I’m excited to add David’s enthusiasm and love for the organization to our team,” said Rick Valenzuela, executive director of Phantom Regiment. “His leadership skills will be an asset not only to the instructional staff, but to the membership as well.” Warren, a native of Carrollton, Ga., was a member of the corps for 5 years, including as the lead conductor from 2014 to 2016. Tour of Champions DeKalb Ticket & Parking Information

Seats are still available online for the Tour of Champions taking place 7:00 pm Saturday at Huskie Stadium at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Tickets can still be purchased online through 2 pm Saturday. All tickets purchased now will be available at the Will Call window at Huskie Stadium or be printed at home. Onsite ticket sales and Will Call pick up will start at 3 pm on Saturday at the Huskie Stadium box office.
