Everything’s bigger in Texas. At least that’s the rumor.

Thursday in Leander, the parents of the Texas members proved it true.

The Regiment has 32 members from Texas and the parents of every one of those 32 contributed to put on an enormous barbeque dinner.

“The parents of Dave Simon and Matt Naylor (Leander H.S. grads) coordinated the whole thing, contacting all the parents of the Texas kids,” corps director Pat Seidling said.

“I knew they were doing something for us, but I had no idea the scope of the thing.

“They bought hundreds of gallons of Gatorade for the corps. And then when we went in the cafeteria and they had a huge spread of food. The whole place was decorated and there was music playing.”

“It was really something. And every Texas member’s parents were involved, whether they were from Lubbock or Houston or wherever. I can’t thank them enough.”

In addition to all the Gatorade and the barbeque, ice cream sundaes were planned for after the show.

Whenever we wonder how these kids turned out so great, we just have to look at their parents for the answer.

THANK YOU from the Phantom Regiment. SUTA!
