To our Phantom Regiment friends, phamily, and phans,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It is with great pleasure that I reach out to you as the newly appointed CEO of Phantom Regiment. As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of our organization and your invaluable role in our success.

I am thrilled to take the helm of such an amazing organization, one whose mission is so crystal clear and meaningful to our community, to its supporters, and to the world. It is a testament to the unwavering support of people like you that we have experienced a remarkable year of program growth, success, and stability.

In particular, 2023 was an incredible season for our Drum Corps. Our members placed 7th after previously placing 8th in 2022, and they earned a score of 92.988 on the DCI world stage – the highest score the drum corps has achieved since 2013! In addition, being voted the 2023 Flomarching Fan Favorite is exactly the kind of accolade that we value, and achieving that standing 3 years running is proof of our distinction and success, not just on the field, but also in people’s hearts. People everywhere are rooting for Phantom Regiment, and you, our supporters, are leading the pack.

We are planning for a solid future, to be sure. I’m excited to share that our educational staff is returning for the 2024 season, and our incredible design team is hard at work putting together a 2024 production that will continue to build upon the successes of recent years.. We are also reimagining our community and camp programs to achieve the greatest possible impact in the lives of the youth and the young adults we serve.

Our work is challenging and requires significant resources. Our fee-driven business model, which is the standard for our activity, is continuously being outpaced by the rising costs associated with meeting the basic needs of our programs; namely, food, fuel, and housing, which all together have increased over 20% since 2019! These costs are rising so quickly and precipitously that drum corps programs across the country have been forced to take  a season off and in some cases close their doors. We are confident in our ability to stay on the field in 2024 and beyond, and that confidence is largely grounded by our faith in the continued support of our donors, our volunteers, and the community.

Your support has played a pivotal role in making our success and longevity possible, and I am writing to humbly request your continued support during our year-end campaign. Your annual fund gift to Phantom Regiment is an investment in the future of the performing arts and the development of young, talented individuals. Your support has a direct and lasting impact on the lives of the young performers we serve, empowering them to pursue their passion and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Please visit our website at regiment.org/yearend to make your donation online. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goals and helps us continue to make a positive impact on the lives of young performers.

Thank you for your consideration and for being an essential part of the Phantom Regiment phamily. Our mission is to create life-changing experiences through performing arts education, and we couldn’t do it without you. I look forward to the exciting journey ahead and the positive change we can create together through the power of the performing arts.

Warm regards,

Amanda Hamaker
CEO, Phantom Regiment
