Brandon Stansbury began his drum corps experience in 2002 when he was selected to lead the Phantom Regiment as a conductor. While performing with Phantom Regiment, Brandon led the conducting team in scoring highest in the conducting portion of the Jim Jones Leadership award which included competition from all the Drum Corps International Division I drum majors.

Brandon is a native of New Orleans Louisiana and a graduate of Holy Cross High School where he began his conducting experience. While serving as drum major at Holy Cross for three years and a student conductor of the Wind Symphony he received several awards for excellence in conducting. His principle instrument is the clarinet and his high school performance experience includes membership in the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra and numerous honor bands across the southeast region.

Brandon recently received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Southeastern Louisiana University. At Southeastern, he performed with the Southeastern Wind Symphony and Chamber Orchestra. He also played a significant role in brining the marching band program back to SLU after its 25 year hiatus. He served as the primary visual instructor and undergraduate assistant from 2003 to his graduation in December 2006.

After graduating in December, Brandon relocated to Indianapolis, IN to begin a new chapter in his life. Brandon was hired by Virtual Meeting Strategies, Inc. (www.vmsconnect.com) as a Finance Specialist. VMS, which was ranked third in the 2006 edition of “The Best Places to Work in Indiana,” produces corporate meetings and events all around the world for a number of major corporations, most of which from the pharmaceutical industry. He currently resides in the heart of downtown Indianapolis with his long time girlfriend, and former member of the Phantom Regiment colorguard, Robin.

He remains active in instructing, adjudicating, and auditioning Drum Majors across southeast Louisiana and is currently looking to expand those roles in the central states region.

In 2003, Brandon joined the Phantom Regiment staff by serving as Tour Manager. Along with his management team experience, Brandon has also worked closely with the Phantom Regiment Drum Major Camp since its inception in 2003. “I’m honored to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing and talented group of individuals at Phantom Regiment, all of which I have such deep respect for. I hope I have the chance to give back to the corps what it has given to me these past years.”
