Post-Massillon Update

2015-08-04T08:44:03-05:00August 4th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Good morning from Danville, Indiana! We have just arrived at our last housing site for the summer. This is when the countdown to finals day starts to feel very real.  Last night was our final regular season show in Massillon, Ohio. It is bittersweet, because while the crowds at these shows are always very enthusiastic and intimate, it is also nice to be done performing outdoors for the summer. The color guard has had to battle some fierce wind-related elements lately, and so we are looking forward to the indoor climate of Lucas Oil Stadium for the last [... Read More]

Rehearsal Updates

2015-07-25T16:04:15-05:00July 25th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Good afternoon! Here is a recap of the first part of the week. After pushing our performance to the next level at the San Antonio regional, the corps was ready for some down time. On Sunday, we had a short block in the afternoon before heading to laundry. Cleaning clothes in San Antonio right after the regional is pretty difficult because most of the corps who attended also get this day off. Our horn bus had to share theirs with three other corps busses. Luckily, my bus only had to share with the Academy, and they were on [... Read More]

Texas Tour Update

2015-07-22T08:45:17-05:00July 22nd, 2015|

Chers Phans, Good evening! Saturday marked the end of the Regiment's 2015 Texas Tour with the San Antonio Regional in the Alamodome. It was an incredible performance for a very receptive crowd. This show capped off a week of a lot of pushing. We had two days of rehearsal in Oklahoma, the first in Tulsa, and the second in Ardmore. In Ardmore, OK, we rehearsed at Ardmore High School, and we also put on a clinic for several marching ensembles in the area. The flag line spent some time performing our basic technique exercises for the students, as well as [... Read More]

Midwest Homecoming Update

2015-07-09T01:06:33-05:00July 9th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Good evening! We just completed a show day at Metamora Township High School in Metamora, Illinois. I am on the bus, and we are departing for Wisconsin to rehearse for a couple days in the UW Whitewater Perkins Stadium!  Last Friday was our home show at Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford. Show of Shows is always such a special time, because of all the alumni and family that come out to support us doing our thing. It's like a big reunion. Every year the color guard alumni come together and bring us treats for after ensemble. This [... Read More]

Western Tour Update

2015-06-20T10:53:24-05:00June 20th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Dear Phans, Bonjour and good morning! The Regiment is on its sixth day of tour, and we are in Stanford, California! On Wednesday, we rehearsed in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Bingham High School. We were very thankful for this rehearsal facility; there was plenty of field space, an amazing turf stadium, great air conditioning, and a beautiful view!     The color guard spent the majority of the day in sectionals, focusing on repping larger chunks of the show to build stamina. The night before, we had a journaling session on the bus, at the end of [... Read More]

End of Spring Training Update

2015-06-16T00:16:01-05:00June 16th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Salut! The Phantom Regiment is officially on tour! Today we had a very productive rehearsal day in Fremont, Nebraska, and are on our way to our next stop in Laramie, Wyoming. It's hard to believe that spring training is over; it really flew by this year! We are very excited to be bringing our program to the West coast for the first time since 2012.  There has been so much excitement and hard work the past week, between filling and detailing our closer and cleaning other sections of the show more closely, the Phantomettes have been very busy! Week 2 Update

2015-05-29T23:35:12-05:00May 29th, 2015|

Chers Phans, Dear Phans, this past week has been another spectacular one with the Phantom Regiment!  On Wednesday, we had the opportunity of going to the Perkins Stadium at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. It is always great to have a huge stadium to fill up with our performance energy, as opposed to a small scaffolding on a grass field.  The corps was able to spend nearly the entire day in ensemble rehearsal, and we got a lot of large, quality repetitions in, including about four full runs of everything we know. In the past two days, the Phantomettes [... Read More]

Spring Training Week 1

2015-05-23T08:31:13-05:00May 22nd, 2015|

5/20/15 Chers Phans, Salut! I am thrilled to say that the 2015 season has begun for the Phantom Regiment! We just finished our boot camp period, during which we wake up an hour before breakfast to run and condition. It is always challenging, but it’s also a really great way to get our bodies ready for the day, as well as for the rest of the summer. Tuesday was the final boot camp day, and that evening we put on a little “show and tell” for the rest of the drum corps and the staff. The Phantomettes performed our dance [... Read More]
