Phantom Regiment and Grammy nominated drummer Mike Mangini open Music in the Park series
Come join the Phantom Regiment as we open the annual Music in the Park series at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford on Tuesday June 6, 2006. Join us on what should be a beautiful summer evening in the historic Sinnissippi Park Music Shell surrounded by majestic trees and the majestic sound of the 2006 Phantom Regiment.
The Music Shell in Sinnissippi Park, dedicated in 1950, is an outdoor acoustic amphitheater which can accommodate as many as 700 on benches, and up to 3,000 on the terraces and lawn. This is a favorite spot for many local and regional talents to showcase their performances. The Phantom Regiment has become known as the opening act for the concert in the park series. This year’s performance will be the first public performance of the 2006 show entitled Faust. Also included will be some very special musical selections as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary!
In conjunction with Pearl Corporation, we are pleased to present multi-time Grammy nominated drummer Mike Mangini who will be performing as well. Mike Mangini has successfully applied his Rhythm Knowledge to all styles of music, from classical to speed metal. He has consistently developed both the melodic and rhythmic sides of his musical personality. He has documented his command of these styles on recordings, with Internationally Renown and Multi Platinum Selling bands, as a multi-time Grammy nominee, as the featured clinician at most every drum festival in the world, and as a full-time faculty member at Berklee College of Music along with being named to their Educational Committee and as Advisor to the Percussion students.
So join us on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at 7:30pm – Sinnissippi Park Music Shell located at 1401 N. Second St. in Rockford, Ill.
