The Chevron Award was created in 1991 for the purpose of honoring those who have made a significant impact on Phantom Regiment. Past winners have included corps directors, board members, instructors and volunteers. It is Phantom Regiment’s highest honor.

This year’s year’s honoree is a more than 10-year volunteer on the kitchen trailer as a member of the food crew. This gentleman began volunteering his summer vacation time when his son marched in the late 1990s. After his son aged out in 2000, he continued to offer his time. And, now that he’s retired, that amount of time has gotten bigger and bigger.

In addition to his dedication and hard work, he can always be counted on to offer a smile and positive words.

Phantom Regiment is honored to present the Chevron Award to Dieter Orkisz.
