Dr. Kevin Sanders
Clinician
Dr. Kevin Sanders joined the faculty of the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis in the fall of 2008. Hailing from a small town outside of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sanders has been a performer and clinician in Europe, Asia, and North and South America.
He has performed with the American Brass Quintet, Memphis Symphony, New Mexico Symphony, Macau Orchestra (China), Spoleto USA Festival Orchestra, New World Symphony, Chicago Civic Orchestra, and the Jeunesse Musicales World Orchestra for their North American and European tours. As a soloist, Sanders will be releasing his debut solo CD in the Fall of 2013. He can also be heard on the 2011 release of “Radiant Blues” on Mark Records, which includes Charles Booker s Sonatina for Tuba and Wind Ensemble with the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble.
A devoted educator, Dr. Sanders has served on the board of the Memphis Youth Symphony and authored a play-a-long fundamentals routine for young brass, woodwind, and percussionists entitled The Hollywood Warm-Up. He has also been a featured clinician at the Washington D.C. Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Conference and International Tuba-Euphonium Conferences.
Dr. Sanders is currently on faculty at the Arkansas Governor s School and serves on the board of directors for Concerts International, an organization dedicated to bringing world-class chamber music to Memphis. He has held positions on the faculties of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, SUNY-Potsdam Crane School of Music, and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
Dr. Sanders holds degrees from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Indiana University, The Juilliard School and Michigan State University. More information can be found on his website www.kevinmsanders.com
