Jeremy Figlewicz
Brass Instructor
Jeremy Figlewicz grew up in Palatine, Illinois and is currently the Assistant Director of Bands at William Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois. As a band director, Jeremy teaches the freshman concert bands and the Symphonic Bands, and also directs the Jazz Lab Ensemble and the Viking Marching Band. Jeremy has taught in Illinois and in Michigan, where he has worked with both middle school and high school students.
Jeremy graduated from Michigan State University in 2003, where he received his Bachelor s Degree in Music Education. While at MSU, he participated in several performing ensembles – including the MSU Wind Symphony and the Spartan Marching Band. As a member of the Wind Symphony, he served as both principal player (euphonium) and soloist at the prestigious Midwest Clinic for Band and Orchestra. He also served as the baritone section leader of the Spartan Marching Band as well as Vice-President of the Gamma Epsilon chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
As a marching band musician and instructor Jeremy has been involved with Drum Corps International and marching bands for the past 13 years. He served as a member, horn sergeant, and soloist for the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps for 3 years (2002-2004), and also served as a section leader and soloist of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps until 2007 (from 2005).
As an instructor Mr. Figlewicz has worked with several marching bands across the Midwest and country. He has taken bands to the Bands of America Pontiac Regionals as well as to the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jeremy has been a brass instructor with numerous drum corps, including the Spirit of Atlanta from Atlanta, Georgia in 2008 and The Academy from Phoenix, Arizona in 2011. Jeremy has been a brass teacher for the Phantom Regiment since 2009 and is honored to work with the passionate young men and women that are a part of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
