Joey Martinez
Percussion Instructor
Joey Martinez is from Fresno, CA and graduated this past spring from California State University – Fresno, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting. He is now working on a teaching credential so he can keep pursuing the life of fame, glory, and riches that is the world of marching pageantry. Joey marched with the Blue Devils ‘B’ Corps in 2008 and went on to march and age out at the Blue Devils Drum Corps from ’09-’11 as a bass drummer. For indoor, he marched with the Sacramento Freelancers in 2010, Pulse Percussion World in 2012, and RCC in 2011 & 2013 (all as a bass drummer of course).
He currently teaches at Clovis West High School and serves as the percussion caption & show designer, techs at Clovis High School, serves as a battery tech at Fresno State, and is one of the bass techs at Pulse Percussion. Drum Corps teaching experience includes serving as the bass tech for Blue Devils ‘B’ 2012, Blue Devils 2013, and Phantom Regiment 2014-15
