Color Guard Caption Head
Send KC an email.
KC began her connection with color guard at the age of seven, as a spectator of the 1977 DCI Prelims in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. She then followed her passion for performing by marching with the Blue Knights, Thunderbolts, Emerald Marquis, and Cadets of Bergen County. Continuing her love for the activity, she has been an instructor for many groups including Pomona HS, Emerald Marquis, Blue Knights, Plymouth-Canton HS, Forte, Oracle, Opus X winterguard, and the Phantom Regiment. Currently, KC works with the Father Ryan High School guard in Nashville, and travels around the country to consult with various performing groups and to serve as a judge for marching band and winter guard competitions. She also enjoys video and phone consultations exchanging ideas about design, choreography and performance with groups throughout the fall and winter season.
KC believes in empowering the performers and instructors that she works with into being their hugest, most brilliant, and luminous selves. She loves working on a trusting and loving team of great human beings, teachers and performers. In her “real” life, KC is an artist and teacher of authentic and expressive art, which allows her to delve fully into authentic movement, voice, photography, video, performance art, drawing, play, painting, and found-object sculpture. She calls Franklin, Tennessee her home now and this is where she enjoys living on a farm, writing, gardening, hiking and taking long walks with her dogs, Sisco and Bodhi.
This summer will be KC’s sixth year on staff with the Phantom Regiment.
