Kevin Rabon
Clinician
Kevin Rabon received his Bachelor’s of Music Education from Louisiana State University, studying trumpet performance with James West and conducting with Frank Wickes and Linda Moorehouse. While earning his degree, Mr. Rabon was a four-year member of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps from Rockford, Ilinois as a member of the trumpet and mellophone section.
Mr. Rabon has served as an Assistant and Head Director at the high school and middle school level, teaching in Seguin, Austin, and Georgetown Independent School Districts in the state of Texas where his ensembles consistently earned Superior Rating at UIL Marching and Concert & Sight Reading Contest.
Mr. Rabon was a member of the brass staff with the Phantom Regiment teaching high brass and serving as Brass Caption Head (’03-’07). Mr. Rabon currently resides in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is the Head Director at Cope Middle School which has become one of the premier programs in the state. He is an active adjudicator and clinician of concert ensembles and marching bands across the country and performs with the Bill Causey Bib Band and Broadmoor Baptist Church Orchestra.
When not teaching or performing, Mr. Rabon enjoys spending time with his wife Paula, and children Emeri and Keller, playing golf, or taking a ride on his motorcycle to relax and unwind.
