Melissa Ganser

Melissa Ganser is a Chicago based artist who is originally from Northern Indiana. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dancemaking from Columbia College Chicago. Melissa’s love of dance generated from her desire to perform in color guard.

Between the years 2000-2005 Ganser performed with Phantom Regiment, The Boston Crusaders, and The Pride Of Cincinnati. She has instructed groups such as Pride of Cincinnati, Phantom Regiment, Carolina Crown, State Of Art, and many high school band and winter guard programs across the country. During her educational career she was particularly influenced by art theory, improvisation, contact improvisation and choreography.

Amongst performing and volunteering in the Chicago dance scene, Ganser has also presented five works on Chicago stages. Most recently she served as a guest artist for the Chicago based dance company, BONEdanse, in their June 2013 performance of Bully.Punk.Riot.
