From 1976 through 2005, Myron Rosander was a performer, instructor, Principal Visual Designer and Assistant Director for the Santa Clara Vanguard, spanning over 30 year’s of involvement with the SCV organization.

In 2000, Mr. Rosander was the recipient of the prestigious “Gail Royer Memorial Vanguard of the Year” award, which is the highest honor one can receive within the SCV organization.

In addition to being the Visual Designer for the Regiment this year, Myron will also be the Visual Designer for the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps from Sacramento, CA.

Myron’s other DCI credits include designing for the 2 time DCI World Champion Madison Scouts in 2006, and the 2002 DCI World Finalist, Seattle Cascades from Seattle, Washington. Myron has also recently designed for the highly respected DCA “all age” corps, the Bushwackers from Harrison, New Jersey.

In 2005 and 2006, Rosander was Visual Designer for the L.D. Bell HS Marching Band from Hurst, Texas. During those 2 years, L.D. Bell finished with the bronze and silver medals respectively at the BOA Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

His other marching band design credits include the BOA Grand Nationals Semi Finalist, Bellbrook HS from Bellbrook, Ohio. Also included are The Kamehameha Schools from Honolulu, HI; Dobyns Bennett High School from Kingsport,TN; Oak Grove High School from San Jose, CA; Maui High School from Kahului, HI.

Rosander has served on the DCI Task Force and has been the author and subject matter for numerous teachers and publications, including “Today’s Music Educator”, “Drum Corps World” and “DCI Today”.

Myron has conducted clinics for several bands and winter guards throughout the United States for the past 20 years. Rosander is also a respected judge for Bands of America, adjudicating contests annually throughout the United States as well as judging independently in the winter guard and winter percussion arena.

In Myron’s personal life, he is an artist featuring oil paints with focus on impressionistic landscapes, as well as modern abstract concepts.
