The Phantom Regiment took fourth place Aug. 9 at the DCI World Championships in Orlando, Fla. It was the corps’ fourth consecutive year of improved finish at finals.
After fifth-place finishes at quarterfinals and semifinals, the Regiment lit the crowd on fire at finals and moved ahead of the Santa Clara Vanguard to earn its best placement at DCI since 1997.
The season continues an incredible improvement trend for the corps. After consecutive eighth-place finishes in 1998 and 1999, the Regiment started an upward surge in 2000 with a seventh-place spot. The corps took sixth in 2001 and fifth in 2002.
Phantom Regiment’s top-four finish breaks the stranglehold Blue Devils, Cavaliers, Cadets and Vanguard have had on those spots over the past six years.
The Phantom Regiment would like to congratulate the Blue Devils on their 11th world championship.
