Dutch in DCI Foundation gives away US$900

The Dutch in DCI Foundation has determined the final 2006 scholarships. This summer there will be 3 scholarships of US$300 awarded to thee Dutch citizens marching in a DCI Drum Corps. Sponsors and members of the Dutch in DCI Foundation have raised this money in the less then half a year that this new organization is in existence. A great first step towards the permanent (financial) support that the Dutch in DCI Foundations seeks to offer.

The selection committee has decided to honor three applicants with a US$300 Dutch in DCI scholarship:
        Harry v/d Berg. Euphonium with Phantom Regiment. 21 years old and rookie age out. In The Netherlands he (was) active with the Kamper Trompetter Korps and Beatrix’ Drum and Bugle Corps. Harry studies Accountancy at the Windesheim in Zwolle, The Netherlands.

        Manon Zuijdervliet. Color Guard with Crossmen, 19 jaar and rookie. In The Netherlands she is active at Winterguard The Pride from Huizen. Manon studies Social Pedagogical Services at the Hogeschool Utrecht, The Netherlands   

        Frank Wienen. Trompet at Santa Clara Vanguard. 18 jaar and rookie. In The Netherlands he was active at UDI Assen and Showband Marum. Frank finished his VWO High School this spring.

All three winnars wil report, every three weeks, on their experiences this summer in DCI on the website www.dutchindci.com The scholaship winners will be honored at the Dutch in DCI Banquet on Saturday Oktober 7th, 2006 in The Netherlands, so book your tickets now! The Dutch in DCI Foundation wishes its scholarship winners the very best for this summer, along with all the other Dutch people that are active in DCI or will travel to the US as a spectator this summer.
