Phantom Regiment Winter Guard, in its first season of competition since 1983, scored a 71.5 on Saturday in Douglasville, Ga.
The guard was loudly and enthusiastically cheered throughout its “A Defiant Heart” program. It garnered lots of oohs and aahs, along with cheers, when it opened its gorgeous floor covering (look for pictures here in a few days).
PRWG was able to perform its show twice because of a music glitch in the final minute, giving the crowd an “encore” performance.
The strength of the guard was movement, which was by far its highest caption score.
Center Stage from JSU finished second with a 66.7.
