Phantom Regiment’s Drumline will be holding a drum clinic today, Friday April 25, from 1p-3p at Jefferson High School. Some of the schools scheduled to attend include Jefferson HS; RESA MS; Lincoln MS; Eisenhower MS; East HS; and Guilford HS. Clinic was planned in conjunction with Mr. Jordan Yi, band director at Jefferson HS. This clinic is free to the participating students and is being sponsored by the Phantom Regiment and their partners Full Compass Systems; Pearl Drums; D’Addario & Evans; Innovative Percussion; and Zildjian.

The Phantom Regiment produces numerous educational camps across the country, but the main camps take place here in Rockford at Rockford University. This clinic is an extension of the Regiment’s educational programs and outreach.

“We’re looking forward to providing a fantastic drum clinic to the participating students here in Rockford”, says Dan Farrell, program director, “which we hope to be the first of many more in the future. We look forward to building a drumline battle of our own with all the schools in the area”.

The Phantom Regiment, known for its drum & bugle corps which is one of the top groups in the country, has been producing educational camps since 2003. This year’s educational camps will bring over 150 students from around the country to Rockford University for hands on training from some of the best high school and college educators in the country.

“These educational camps are an important part of the mission of the Regiment”, states Rick Valenzuela, executive director, “as we want to provide a life changing opportunity to as many young people as possible”.

District 205 students participating will not only receive instruction from some of the best percussion instructors in the country, the Regiment drumline will be there to perform for them and help during the clinic. The students and band directors will also receive a gift bag provided by the Phantom Regiment and their partners.
