The Phantom Regiment is proud and honored to announce that the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) nominated us to be included in their “In Good Company “ exhibit.

The opening reception, which is open to the public, is Friday October 3, 5-9 p.m. at Octane Interlounge.

The RACVB wanted to celebrate the many hard working, creative, inspiring citizens whose good work enrich our community. “We truly are In Good Company – these fine people do so much to enhance the Rockford Region as a destination,” said John Groh, RACVB president & CEO.

To that end, RACVB commissioned one of Rockford’s most prominent photographic duos, Nels and Anna Akerlund of Nels Akerlund Photography + Video, to create 40 highly conceptual photographs depicting the people and places that make the region appealing for residents and attractive to visitors. The 60 x 40 photos will be on display throughout the region at 30 locations.

The RACVB will host an opening reception for the exhibit during ArtScene at Octane Interlounge on Friday, October 3 from 5-9 p.m. The portraits will then be on display in 30 locations throughout Winnebago County.

On January 5, 2015, the region-wide exhibit will close. A closing reception will be held on January 10, 7-9:30 p.m. at Rockford’s historic City Hall. Each of the portraits will be auctioned with the proceeds benefiting RACVB’s Forest City Beautiful Initiative.

The Phantom Regiment photograph will be on display at Rockford Art Deli (402 E State St, Rockford). “We’re honored to be included in the ‘In Good Company’ exhibit,” says Rick Valenzuela, Phantom Regiment executive director. “It’s also exciting to be on display at the Rockford Art Deli downtown where everyone will be able to see our photograph.” Look for a special t-shirt designed in conjunction with the Rockford Art Deli to be available in the coming weeks.

Here’s a sneak peek of our photograph. The actual photograph will be published online at a later date. In the meantime, visit Rockford Art Deli to see it in person.
