The Phantom Regiment lost an old friend last week. Don Anderson, father of alumnus Dave Anderson, passed away on October 31st, 2009.
Don was a long-time volunteer for the Regiment, serving mostly as a truck driver. Don started volunteering when his young son Dave joined the brass section, as a soprano player. Dave stayed on for many years and eventually was horn sergeant, then brass instructor. Don stayed on longer. Several years after Dave had moved on, his dad continued to drive for the corps. “Don was one of my favorite drivers and his passing is a sad thing,” said former director, David St. Angel. “Don was a great driver for the corps,” said former director, Ron Schulz, “I always enjoyed having him on the support staff.”
The Phantom Regiment extends its heartfelt condolences to the Anderson family.
