Cameron, “Cam,” Smith is energized for her first season as a Drum Corps International instructor after aging out in 2019 with the Phantom Regiment.
Prior to marching the Phantom Regiment in 2019, she performed on first mellophone with the 2017 and 2018 Blue Knights Hornline based out of Denver, Colorado. As a competitive dancer for over 14 years, she applied her love of dance and movement to her time in Drum Corps as the Blue Knights Dance Soloist in 2017.
For the past six years, Cameron has instructed movement in tap, ballet and jazz for musical theater and dance intensive workshops around the Kansas City area. In 2018, she taught as the Lead Visual Technician of the Blue Valley High School Visual Program in Overland Park, KS.
Hailing from Kansas City, Cameron studies Strategic Communication, Political Science, and U.S. Intelligence and National Security at the University of Kansas within the Honors Program. In fall 2020, Cameron will pursue a legislative career in Washington D.C. within the U.S. Congress and serve in the U.S. Air Force as a Space Intelligence Officer in January 2021.
Cameron looks forward to experiencing Drum Corps from an instructor’s point of view and contributing to the corps’ new era of Phantom Regiment.
