Described as a true musical talent and professional (Ivan Trevino, Composer), Eric Willie has a varied career as a solo performer, chamber musician, orchestral player, and teacher. He has performed in Carnegie Hall, several Percussive Arts Society International Conventions, the Big Ears Music Festival, and on regional live broadcasts such as Nashvilles NPR Station Live In Studio C. Eric regularly performs with the Nief-Norf and LegalWood Projects, and has premiered works by Christopher Deane, Paul Lansky, John Mackey, Marc Mellits, Ivan Trevino, and others.
Currently, Eric serves as Director of Percussion Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and regularly performs with the Winston-Salem Symphony.
As a marching percussion specialist, Eric has served as a percussion consultant with the Phantom Regiment (2012-2013), arranger for Spirit and Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, and on staff for Carolina Crown and Madison Scouts. His marching percussion arrangements have been performed by the University of North Texas, the University of Kentucky, and many high schools throughout the United States.
