Jen Barton


Jen Barton, a native of Greenwood, IN, is currently the color guard director at Rouse HS in Leander, TX and color guard coordinator at James Bowie HS in Austin, TX. This follows a 15-year career in the Carolinas, working with numerous scholastic and independent performing ensembles, including Byrnes HS, The Cast Winter Guard, Etude Winter Guard and many more.

As a performer, Jen has appeared with Santa Clara Vanguard and Northeast Independent (FL) Winter Guard. She has also performed with the Florida State University Marching Chiefs, ad astra per ASPERA Winter Guard, and CrownGUARD.

Jen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education from The Florida State University in 2004, where she studied flute with Stephanie Jutt and Eva Amsler. She participated in Marching Chiefs, Concert and Symphonic Bands, Harmonie Chamber Ensemble, Tau Beta Sigma, Golden Key and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies.

Jen also serves as a fall and winter adjudicator in the Carolinas and serves on the Classification and Education Committees for Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC). She lives in Cedar Park, TX and is the dog mom to a 6-year-old Shih Tzu, Beauregard.
