Stephen Kunzer is known internationally as a solo artist, chamber musician, educator, clinician, and lecturer, having performed and taught coast-to-coast in the United States, Thailand, Mexico, and Korea.
Stephen is born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and currently resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he is Lecturer of Tuba and Euphonium at Oklahoma State University.
“Diversive Elements” is Stephen’s debut solo album that was released in 2016 featuring new music for the tuba and euphonium. As a performer, Stephen has played with many of today’s great artists – Jennifer Hudson, Carole King, Joshua Bell, Emmylou Harris, Martina McBride, John Fogerty, Arturo Sandoval, and Willie Nelson, to name a few. Stephen participates in a variety of performance settings such as Symphony Orchestras, in the pit for ballets and Broadway musicals, performing chamber music, and presenting solo recitals.
Stephen received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arizona, and his Master of Music degree is from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where he served as graduate assistant.
Stephen has previously served on faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a contributing writer for the International Tuba and Euphonium Association Journal.
