To the Macomb Area Community and Western Illinois University,
THANK YOU!
As an organization, we know that we come with a lot of baggage (literally)! The welcome you provided to our traveling circus was overwhelming. We’ve enjoyed the beautiful campus of Western Illinois, as well as the phenomenal stadium and facilities. Everyone on campus and throughout the Macomb community has been so wonderfully nice and receptive to us. We’ve had a great time here on campus and hope to be back!
And we’d like to thank YOU!
Please join us for a FREE community performance on Friday, June 8 @ 8:30 pm at Hanson Field on the campus of Western Illinois University. There will also be a special presentation from Mayor Inman as well as representation from the University’s President’s office.
Friday will be our last rehearsals at WIU. We will be rehearsing 10a-1:30p; 2:30p-6p and 7p-8:30p. Feel free to come watch any of our last rehearsals before the performance starting at 8:30 pm.
All are welcome!
“To say the residents and businesses of Macomb have enjoyed having Phantom Regiment in town would be a huge understatement. Everyone has LOVED it! Several of our business members have not only experienced a significant uptick in business activity in what is normally a slow season but also commented on the positive behavior and manners of the corps members and staffers. I know at least one local restaurant expanded their hours to accommodate Phantom’s late-night rehearsals. Not only did they appreciate the business, but they really enjoyed getting to know the people. This has been an overall positive experience for everyone. The excitement leading to Friday night’s concert is contagious. The Chamber has received several phone calls from out-of-town visitors wanting details about the concert, inquiring where they can go for dinner beforehand, etc. I think I am safe speaking on behalf of the town when I say, “Thank you, Phantom Regiment, and we definitely hope to welcome you back in 2019!”
Kathy Waters, Executive Director, Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce
“It has been a wonderful experience having Phantom on our campus this summer and hope this is the beginning of a permanent relationship. The university, community, and students have all been thrilled to watch rehearsals and have them in our community. Businesses and community members have commented on how great it is to have the group here generating business and the wonderful interactions they have had with the PR participants and staff. This has been such a wonderful experience for all involved and we can’t thank PR enough for the opportunity.”
Matt Thomas, Ph.D., Director, Associate Director of Bands, Western Illinois University
“ We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to host Phantom Regiment these past few weeks. The Corps members interaction with the community has been so positive, their presence has been uplifting for the entire community. The opportunity to hear and see them perform has been nothing short of amazing….we can’t wait for them to come back!!!”
Michael J. Inman, Mayor, City of Macomb
