Ryan Reed
Percussion Instructor

Ryan Reed is a percussion specialist from the Northeast Ohio area. He is currently the Director of Percussion for New Philadelphia High School, where his responsibilities include teaching the percussion section of the marching band, private lessons and directing the Indoor Percussion Ensemble (WGI PSCO). Ryan is also on staff with Norton High School as a percussion instructor. Additionaly, Ryan serves as front ensemble coordinator for Capital City Percussion, and a front ensemble instructor for Matrix Percussion. Ryan recently joined the staff of Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as a front ensemble instructor. Previously, Ryan was a front ensemble instructor for the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps and Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps.

Ryan received a B.M. in Music Education from Kent State University where he studied percussion with Ted Rounds. As a performer in the marching arts, Ryan was a front ensemble member of Matrix Percussion from 2006-2008, Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2009, and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008.

In addition to teaching, Ryan is the front ensemble arranger for OCC Indoor Percussion based out of Syracuse, New York. He also serves as a designer/arranger for Downbeat Percussion, a percussion entertainment and design company based out of Syracuse, New York. Ryan is an endorser for Dynasty Percussion. He is extremely excited to join the Phantom Regiment for the upcoming 2015 season.
